Overview

The Division of Vascular Surgery at the University of Florida manage all problems of the circulatory system (arteries and veins outside the heart and brain), from the simplest to the most complex, using both advanced surgical and non-surgical techniques in one of the most comprehensive and best hospitals in the Southeast (Shands Hospital at the University of Florida). All vascular surgeons in the Divison are full-time faculty members of the University of Florida and are nationally recognized for their expertise, which spans the full spectrum of vascular diseases including aneurysmal and occlusive diseases of the aorta, peripheral occlusive disease for claudication and limb-threatening ischemia, acute and chronic mesenteric ischemia, permanent hemodialysis access, and cerebrovascular diseases.

The Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program at the University of Florida consists of a 24 month training period, focusing entirely on the evaluation, treatment and surgery of peripheral vascular disease.
