Alex G Cuenca is a PGY-3 general surgery resident
at the University of Florida. He will spend three years in the lab
of Dr. Moldawer and be the 4th general surgery resident at UF to
matriculate in the PhD program. Additionally, he is a trainee in the
T32 Research Fellowship in Trauma and Burns in the Laboratory of
Inflammation Biology and Surgical Science. His two areas of research
focus will be in neonatal sepsis and sepsis in cancer patients. He
plans to pursue a career in academic pediatric or vascular surgery
upon completion of general surgery training.
