Dr. Hemming is Professor of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Transplantation & Hepatobiliary Surgery. He has specialized training in all aspects of hepatobiliary surgery including both open and laparoscopic liver resection for liver tumors, resection of the pancreas and bile duct as well as liver transplantation and portal decompressive procedures. He performs over 100 liver resections annually. Applying techniques from liver transplantation to oncologic surgery allows Dr. Hemming and his colleagues to perform aggressive resections for cancer that provide the possibility of cure in patients that would otherwise have few options. Dr. Hemming is listed in both America's Top Doctors for Cancer as well as America's Top Doctors and has published extensively on the surgical aspects of hepatobiliary disease and transplantation.
