Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) Annual Training:

Annual BBP training is required for full and part-time faculty, staff, residents, OPS, and students who have a reasonably anticipated risk for occupational exposure to human blood, tissues, or certain body fluids.

The components of the training program are specified by law and are outlined in the 2007 Exposure Control Plan.

  • Faculty who supervise laboratories must also read Standard Operating Procedures and complete the accompanying paperwork. A copy of SOP specific to your lab is to be kept on file in your laboratory at all times.

  • Training will take approximately 20 minutes and must be completed in one sitting.

    Jacksonville UF employees go to the Employee Health Office in Suite 505, Tower 1, 5th and Jefferson from 7 AM to 4 PM. After hours go to the ER.

    If you are on an off-site rotation further than one-hour travel time from UF, seek care at the nearest medical facility.
