Security Users of Department of Surgery computing resources must comply with Federal and State laws, University, College and Department policies and guidelines and and abide by relevant contracts and licensing agreements while using Department of Surgery, Otolaryngology and Urology computing resources. |

Users are responsible for ascertaining what authorizations are necessary and for obtaining them before using departmental computing resources. Users are responsible for any activity originating from their accounts which they can reasonably be expected to control. Accounts and passwords may not, under any circumstances, be used by persons other than those to whom they have been assigned by the account administrator . In cases when unauthorized use of accounts or resources is detected or suspected, the account owner should change the password and report the incident to the appropriate account administrator, Unit Information Security Manager, and/or Dean, Director, or Department Chair. | |

Computing resources are provided primarily for University and Departmental business use. Responsible personal use is permitted, provided it is reasonable and is not detrimental to the image of the University or Department and does not interfere with normal business operations. Further limits may be imposed upon personal use in accordance with normal supervisory procedures concerning the use of Departmental equipment. Respect the privacy and property of all files on the computer system. Do not alter or erase a file without explicit permission to do so. The ability to alter a file does not imply permission to do so. Generally accepted moral and ethical conduct applies to the information stored on computer hard drives. Please refrain from storing inappropriate materials. |
