UF surgeons provide comprehensive care for patients with thermal injuries. At the Shands at UF Burn Center, surgeons work with a team of physicians and healthcare providers from numerous fields of expertise to provide care throughout all phases of recovery, spanning from early resuscitation care through long-term rehabilitation and reconstruction. Team members include burn surgeons, plastic and reconstructive surgeons, critical care specialists, anesthesiologists, critical care burn nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, clinical nutritional specialists, psychologists, social workers and pastoral care support personnel.
