UF surgeons in this service offers surgical oncologic care for management of patients with breast cancer, melanoma and other types of skin cancer including Merkel cell carcinoma, soft tissue sarcoma, and endocrine disease including thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, and adrenal. Surgeons who manage these diseases have advanced training in surgical oncology and/or special expertise in minimally invasive surgical approaches. Breast Cancer includes breast conserving surgery, surgery for advanced or recurrent breast cancer, sentinel node biopsy, prophylactic surgery, management of high-risk patients, and partial breast radiation therapy. UF surgeons collaborate with radiologists, pathologists, reconstruction surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, genetic counselors and rehabilitation specialists.

Melanoma includes the management of melanoma and other skin cancers, such as Merkel and squamous, recurrent and metastatic melanoma and minimally invasive isolated limb infusion for advanced recurrent melanoma of the extremity. Patients also have access through to clinical trials.

Sarcoma includes the management of soft tissue sarcoma of the extremity, trunk, and retroperitoneum, primary, recurrent, and metastatic soft tissue sarcoma, limb salvage surgery for extremity sarcoma, minimally invasive limb infusion for advanced or locally recurrent soft tissue sarcoma of the extremity and minimally invasive approaches to many sarcomas of the gastrointestinal tract (gastrointestinal stromal tumors).

Endocrine includes the treatment of benign and malignant conditions of the thyroid and parathyroid glands using image-guided surgery and intra-operative techniques such as nerve monitoring and hormone assays, endocrine abnormalities of the adrenal gland and the pancreas (functional and non-functional neuroendocrine tumors).
