Department Name

The Division of Acute Care Surgery encompasses trauma and burn surgeons, including faculty who have expertise in emergency surgery and surgical critical care.

UF Acute care surgeons work with a multidisciplinary health care team to provide care for patients with traumatic critical injuries and thermal injuries at the Shands at UF Level I Trauma Center and Shands Burn Center at UF. The care provided is rendered by a team that includes pre-hospital personnel, surgeons, consult physicians, nurses and ancillary staff.
